Noisey front end
Over the last few days I've cleaned the front end bits, decided that the steering races are fine and worked fresh grease into the bearings.
The lower triple clamp and stem were replaced by tying the front of the frame to the work stand, tightening the adjuster bolt and then hitting from the bottom. As for removal a cycle of hit-tighten got it there.
The big problem is that although I'm certian I've adjusted the head bearings correctly there is still a noise!
